Letter from the President:

March 7, 2008

Dear Barracudas, 

Welcome to the 2008 League City Barracuda Swim Season! We are so excited that one of our own long-time Barracudas will be coming back as our head coach!  Stephanie Payne is graduating from Texas A&M University in May and will be our head coach this year.  Also, we will be welcoming back our wonderful college coaches, Stefani, John, Emily, and Aspen, as well as our great high school coaches.   We look forward to another great season of swimming and fun with our Fun Fridays and special outings with our coaches & swimmers.   

This year we will be holding mail in registration and one walk-in registration. Please go to the Barracuda website http://www.lcbarracudas.org to print your registration form and volunteer contract and return it with your payment to our post office box by April 25^th.  Walk in registration will be held March 29^th  from 10-2 at the League City Civic Center. T-shirts and handbooks will be distributed at the walk-in registration. Those doing mail in registration will be able to pick up your t-shirt on April 28^th at the parent meeting that will be held at 6:00 PM in the recreation center located next to the swimming pool.  We will be answering any questions that you have that night.   

For the first time in many years we have felt it necessary to raise our registration fee to $125 per swimmer. All high school and US swimmers will remain $75 with a maximum family fee of $300.  All swimmers registering after Monday, April 28^th will be assessed a $25 late fee.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  New swimmers must be at least six (6) years of age, as of May 1, and be able to swim the required 25 yards in order to register. We will be accepting five (5) year old siblings of any returning Barracuda families. Proof of age will be required for new swimmers. Tryouts for new swimmers 8 and under will be on Monday, April 28^th. 

Please keep checking the website for new information regarding the team and the upcoming swim season such as practice times, the meet and greet kick off party, and the season meet schedule. 

I look forward to serving you as president this year and making this a great swimming experience for the children.  Our goal as a board is to insure that your swimmer improves their skills while having fun and enjoying the Barracuda spirit and traditions.
